Climate Change (ClimateChange)

Description
The emission of greenhouse gases has caused Earth's intricate climate system to begin breaking down. Humans have developed ways of life and societies around the stable functioning of our planet, but climate change threatens the foundations we have built our societies upon. Understanding the complex interconnectedness between human activities and the functioning of the climate system enables us to create mitigation and adaptation solutions that are truly sustainable. By the end of this course, you will understand in what ways humans, the climate system, and sustainable development are interdependent on each other.

Learning objectives:
- The students will learn about the history and reality of climate change-its impact on human systems
- The students will learn about climate change theory and climate science
- The students will learn about climate change as a sustainable development challenge
- The students will learn about knowledge and institutions for mitigating and adapting to climate change

While a strong understanding of circular economy and sustainable development principles is advantageous, expertise in these areas is not required to pass this course. This course is for those who have a general understanding of Earth science and sustainable development. You will gain new insights into these topics related to systems science, social science, and developing sustainable solutions. If you are interested in solving issues related to the greatest challenge of our time, you have found the right place!
